FROM Gladstone to the big smoke and many cities in between, country artist Terry Clark has experienced his fair share of the world.
The modern-cowboy country singer started his journey learning guitar at 11 years old. Terry spent much of his days at the family cattle property near Gladstone.
A lot of the stories come out in my songs. Leaving school at 15, he took his father’s advice and got a job. “My old man said if you’re not in school you’ve got to get a job.” Taking a position in Western Australia on a cattle station in the Kimberleys, Terry spent 12 months as a ringer. “It was quite an experience for a young 15-year-old lad. “It was all hard work – we had about 30,000 head of cattle on a 2.25 million acre property – it was an enormous experience and eye opener for me.”
